Application

We are pleased that you desire to unite with us by becoming a member of Cornerstone Church. We pray that God will affirm your desire as you seek to respond to His leading in your life.

 

In preparation for membership, we ask that you carefully read and agree with the Statement of Beliefs and the Church Constitution. Then, please read the Membership Commitment, which is an additional attachment to this application. If you agree with these, please complete this application and give it to an Elder. The Elders will then contact you to arrange a time to meet with you.

Alternatively, you may print and bring in a paper copy.

Spiritual Journey

Have you trusted Jesus as your Savior and Lord?
Have you been baptized by immersion after your salvation?

Having sought God’s direction through prayer and trusting in God's grace and the power and direction of His Spirit, I do joyfully commit myself to membership in the Cornerstone Church. In so doing, I agree to:

​

  1. Grow in my relationship with God. (Romans 12:1-2; Ephesians 4:13, 22-24; II Peter 3:18)

  2. Support the overall ministry, vision, purposes, and goals of Cornerstone Church with my time, 2. treasure and talents. (Matthew 22:37-40 & 28:18-20; John 13:34-35; Romans 14:19 & 15:5; I Peter 1:22; Ephesians 4:29; Hebrews 13:17; Philippians 1:19; Hebrews 10:25; Philippians 1:27; I Corinthians 16:2)

  3. Learn, understand, develop and use my spiritual gifts and my personal skills and talents so as to contribute actively, meaningfully and effectively to the vision, purposes, and goals of Cornerstone Church. (I Peter 4:10; Ephesians 4:11-12; Philippians 2:3-4, 7)

  4. Pray for, encourage, submit to, support, and give honest and direct feedback to the leadership of the church (Elders, Deacons, Staff, and Ministry Leaders). (Hebrews 13:17)

  5. Participate in the governing of the church, primarily through attendance and voting at church business meetings, and be governed by the church constitution and support the church statement of beliefs.

  6. Love, serve, encourage and labor with the other members. Further, I commit to practice all the “one anothers” of scripture and to promote peace and unity. (Romans 12:9-16; Ephesians 4:3; Titus 2:11-3:2; Hebrews 13:16) 7.

  7. Regularly attend worship services. (Hebrews 10:24-25) 8.

  8. To share in the privilege of making disciples in our community, region and the world by praying for the unsaved, personally communicating my faith in Jesus Christ to others, inviting the unsaved to attend both worship and other church activities, and warmly welcoming and befriending those who visit Cornerstone Church. (I Thessalonians 1:1-2; Luke 14:23; Romans 15:7; II Corinthians 5:20)

  9. To cheerfully and voluntarily be accountable to the leadership and other members of the church concerning my personal conduct, so as to live “self-controlled, upright and godly in this present age.” (Titus 2:12). Further, to submit to Biblical, Elder-led church discipline if I err and fall into ongoing, sinful patterns of living. (Titus 3:1; Hebrews 13:17)
